Marcus Garvey on the South Side
Leif Ericson Elementary Scholastic Academy on the West Side
George Manierre Elementary School on the Near North Side

Calhoun North Elementary School will be holding a community meeting at Al Raby High School located at 3545 W. Fulton from 10 a.m. -12 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013. A bus will leave Calhoun at 9:15.
The support of all current parents, former parents, alumni, community agencies and concerned citizens are welcome.
I found a listing of schools that are slated for closing on CBS online, and wanted to highlight the schools on the South Side. According to the list, there are 27 South Side locations, which is half of the slated list.
Altgeld Elementary School, 1340 W. 71st St., will be closed into Wentworth.
Attucks Elementary School, 5055 S. State St., will be phased out over two years and closed into Beethoven.
Banneker Elementary School, 6656 S. Normal Blvd., will be closed into Mays.
Bontemps Elementary School, 1241 W. 58th St., will be closed into Nicholson.
