There is a tuition waiver available for children of Veterans living in Illinois. The waiver may be used for any University of Illinois campus. Up to six waivers per Illinois county are awarded each year, one for each of the following conflicts: World War II, Korean Conflict, Vietnam Conflict, Southeast Asia Conflict, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Chicago residents can check out free museum passes for general admission to 12 museums in Chicago from any Chicago Public Libraries with valid library cards for one week. Special exhibits cost extra.

Not all libraries have all passes so call before going. Only one passport per person can be checked out at a time.
Passes must be returned to library from which they were obtained. There is a $2.00 per day overdue fee with a limit of $20.00. Lost passes are $60.00.
GenTech, a Digital Technology Education & Training Center, is offering a special “Try-It-Out” Video Game Creation & 2-D Animation Workshop to 3rd -12th grade students. This one day class will give students a behind-the-scenes feel for making video games. They will not only have the skills to play the games; they will have the knowledge on how to create them.
