PROGRAM #1
TEEN MUSEUM DOCENTS OF THE FUTURE-Apprentice Program
The DuSable Museum is seeking 15 CPS high school students ages 14-19 to participate in an exciting intensive, educational experience! Teen Museum Docents of the Future is a dynamic apprenticeship program that prepares students to lead engaging public tours through the Museum encouraging their audiences to look at; analyze, and discuss the artifacts in the Museum’s collections. Throughout this 5-week work/study course, students develop keen research abilities, a thorough knowledge of the Museum’s collections and current exhibitions, learn public speaking skills and techniques for facilitating tours, and complete a qualifying tour at the end of the course. Teens who complete the program receive a stipend!

PROGRAM #2
THE DUSABLE MUSEUM INTERNSHIP PROGRAM FOR YOUNG ADULTS(18-22)
The collections and exhibitions Internship Program at The DuSable Museum offers a comprehensive overview of the Museum’s operations with participants engaging in hands-on training in the following departments: Curatorial, Development, Education and Public Programs, External Affairs(Marketing/Media) and Reservations and Sales. During this 5-week session, interns have the unique opportunity to work alongside mentor-staff members, where they will help further develop special and ongoing projects. Seven interns will be selected for this paid opportunity.
