Job Fair at South Central Community Center was a Success
On Friday, September 10, 2010, the Genesis Career Network held a job fair at the South Central Community Center, 1021 W. 87th Street. Even though “40 employers were scheduled to attend, only 20 showed up,” according to Lawrence Lenoir, CEO and Founder of Genesis, the event was a success with over 500 attendees.
The fair was scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. Lenoir reported that the line to enter the event was around the corner by 9:00 a.m. Clearly, this is indication of the need for employment on the South Side.
Genesis is holding its next job fair on from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on November 12 at St. Ethelreda on 8734 S. Paulina.
