Position Summary: Coordinates the Safety Net Works Initiative in accordance with Children’s Home + Aid policies, strategic plan and mission. Reports to the designated supervisor.
Core Responsibilities:
• Fulfils Children’s Home + Aid’s responsibility as the lead agency to execute all programmatic and fiscal reporting requirements for the Safety Net Works Grant
• Coordinates and facilities the Coalition’s planning and implementation of the Safety Net Works Initiatives
• Develops and monitors appropriate performance based subcontracts and reporting requirements with partner agencies to ensure execution of planned projects, in accordance with subcontract budgets, and appropriate fiscal and programmatic reporting
• Supports coalition building through community outreach
• Responsible for coordinating and hosting monthly coalition meetings
• Attends all mandated Safety Net Works core trainings and meetings
• Works closely with coalition agencies/groups such as schools, faith-based and community-based organizations, along with representatives from state agencies, including but not limited to public health, law enforcement, child welfare, Chicago Park District, Chicago Public Schools and others to support the success of the coalition
• Provides supervision to the Youth Organizer
Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree in Social Work or related human service field
• Minimum 2 years administrative and oversight experience
• Experience with program and budget planning
• Experience with violence prevention work and at-risk youth
• At least one year of experience in working with community coalitions and in youth
development/violence prevention programming
• Ability to work evenings and weekends

The Chicago Board of Elections would like to announce that the Polling Place Administrator (PPA) online application is now available for those who would like to serve in the November 2, 2010 General Election! September 8th is the last day to apply.
When you apply, you will be instructed to choose an in-person class. The classes will begin October 3rd and run until October 11th and will be held at UIC, 750 S. Halsted. What are Judges of Election?
The judges of election are the officials responsible for the conduct of the election in the precinct polling place. The judges of election are the backbone of the electoral process. Their jobs are challenging, interesting and personally rewarding.
In each precinct, the judges share in responsibilities, duties and authorities that include:
(1) Opening the polling place and setting up voting equipment at 5 a.m. on Election Day;
(2) Conducting a fair and impartial election in the precinct polling place, allowing voting from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
(3) Tabulating the vote totals for the precinct and transmitting them to Election Central after the polls close at 7 p.m.

3. Domiciled within the boundaries of the District within six months of successful completion of probation. (The District is in Cook County, Illinois, covering approximately 90% of the county area.)
SALARY: The 2010 salary range is $66,564.42 to $101,402.60 per year with appointment usually made at the first (entry) step.
THE EXAMINATION will consist of a written test weighted 100%. The minimum passing score on the written test will be 70% unless determined otherwise by the Director of Human Resources. Candidates must achieve a passing score to have their names placed on the eligible list.
